Clearing my Shelf of Shame (aviation edition)

While I mostly build 1/35 scale armour, I sometime like to build the odd helicopter or other interesting aircraft. Following on from my list of stalled armour builds, I’ve collated a list of my in-progress aviation models, again listed in the order I’m hoping to clear them down, along with some notes on where they are and possibly why they stalled.

Freedom Model Kits 1/48 U.S NAVY UCAS X-47B

This was one of those kits I just had to have as soon as I saw it. The kit went together really well with almost perfect fit and construction sits at 99% complete — I just need to add some small etch parts to the landing gear. Once done it is into the paint shop.

Italeri 1/72 Longbow Apache AH-64D

A bit of a slow burner — construction is 96% complete and I just need to mask then fit the canopy, then she can head off to the paint shop. This isn’t a great model and is one that would likely stay hidden once done!

Hobby Boss 1/72 Eurocopter Tiger HAP

This was one of the kits I used to take to shows so I could build while not browsing or chatting to people, however very little was completed. I think I’m still on painting the cockpit before sealing the fuselage halves.

Italeri’s and Dragon’s 1/72 Kamov Ka-50 “Hokum”

This was to be a dual build for a group build project over at Brit Modeller, but it did not really get off the ground. I have treated the clear parts with a coat of Klear, but that is as far as I got.
