While I don’t often build WWII era aircraft, sometimes an opportunity that you can’t ignore presents itself. A very kind individual has donated dozens of kits to Newbury Scale Model Club as he no longer has the space to build or display them. It is quite a collection of 1/48 scale aircraft, but what is as impressive is they all can be built as RCAF variants. The only stipulation for the kits was to build them in RCAF colours and share photos of the finished models. The models I picked up are below – I’ll likely start with the Mosquitos, then move to the Typhoon and Mustang before attempting the Lancaster.
Update 13/12: Another addition to my growing HEMTT collection, this time Trumpter’s M983 HEMTT Tractor & TPY-2 X Band Radar. The radar itself is rather a large dull piece of plastic, but I’m planning on showing it deployed with the M983 off to one side.
